It looks like the good ole' boys at Lanta got a wake up call after noon today. Channel 69 news (God I love that number!) reported on their 6 PM newscast that 22 Merchants and a few interested riders did something that residents of the Lehigh Valley rarely do: They showed up at the Lanta board meeting and embarassed the pompous asses!
So Lanta is considering restoring a stop or two on Hamilton street between 7th and 10th.
They better do it soon, some of those merchants are slipping away, and there's not far for them to go before their businesses go belly up.
But if Lanta won't bend, I have a solution. I'll get my own damn bus, the Mad as Bats Magic hamilton mall bus! I'll even let you smoke whatever you want on my bus, because I won't need any government regulation, or insurance, hell I don't even have a license to drive a bus!
But Seriously, Lanta has been really arrogant in how they treated those merchants, and the Mayoral administration has been absent from any gatherings where the merchants voiced the concerns. Wherefore art thou, Mr. Mayor? Make a certain landlord I know happy and move your podium down to 8th and Hamilton and announce that you will contact the Lanta board and urge them to restore the stops. Be a mayor to all the people sir, not only the campaign contributors. that's what they (the Mom and Pop merchants) elected you for.
